WATER MAKE-UP

Grimas Water Make-up (Pure) is an unperfumed, gluten-free water-based make-up, intended for face-painting and body-painting. Pure means that the product in question does not contain any chemical preservatives (such as parabens) or halogenated organic compounds.
Water Make-up works just like watercolour paint. The best way to apply Grimas Water Make-up (Pure) and Water Make-up Pearl Pure is to use a brush. Use the brush and a little water to soften the make-up and make it a bit pasty. Test the colour intensity on the hand.

Apply the Water Make-up into the hairline (do not forget the ears and the neck); this will prevent a mask-type effect. Water Make-up dries quickly, so you need to work quickly to achieve a beautiful result. Don't work too dry, but do not use too much water.

Basic technique for ageing

Whatever the make-up objective, the techniques for lightening/shadowing are the basis of the effects you want to achieve. Shaded/dark segments cause that area to recede optically, whereas highlighted/lighter segments make something stand out optically.
Important areas for shading are the eye sockets, the temples, the side of the nose and below the cheekbones. The vertical frown wrinkle and the naso-labial ('nose-lip') fold are also important areas to shadow.

Grimas Water Make-Up (Pure) can be used around the eyes, but children often do not like it when brushes are so close to the eyes. So decide yourself how far you want to extend the colour.
When working under the eyes, have your model look upwards - only with the eyes, without moving the head.
If you work above the eyes (eyelid), have your model close his/her eyes in a relaxed manner. Children are inclined to shut their eyes tight. Then you can say: keep your eyes closed as if you are sleeping.

Draw the eyebrows in with long strokes going upwards for a threatening effect.
To get the stubble effects you use a Stubble Sponge. Dab a moist Stubble Sponge into black Grimas Water Make-up (Pure). Hold the Stubble Sponge between the fingers and compress it gently, so that it becomes a bit convex. Test the colour intensity on the hand first. Then work dabbing onto the skin: do not use a brushing motion, since you would remove the structured effect.
