PREPARATION

Before starting, you ensure your hands and nails are well cleaned. File your nails if necessary, so that there are no snags. By doing this you prevent damages on the face and risk of infection.

Always work using clean materials (sponges, brushes, spatulas, water bowls) and change the water regularly.

Get the subject to put on any clothes beforehand that have to be put on over the head. Protect your models clothing with a hairdressing cape or a towel.

APPLYING A BASE

First degrease and clean the skin you are going to be working on with Grimas Cleansing Lotion. Then wipe dry with a tissue.

With a dry or sensitive skin, you can apply Grimas Under Make-up Base. Allow 10 minutes for it to be absorbed before you continue.
In the case of combination skin, you could apply some Grimas Anti Shine to the greasy parts of the skin (nose, chin) before applying the make-up.
In this example we are working with a base of Grimas Camouflage Make-up.

CLEANSING LOTION = Cleansing Lotion
UNDER MAKE-UP BASE = Under Make-up Base
ANTI SHINE PRIMER = Anti Shine Primer
CAMOUFLAGE MAKE-UP PURE = Camouflage Make-up Pure
Bags/circles:
Take the Camouflage Make-up out with a clean spatula and soften it with your finger tip. You can mix the camouflage on the spatula with Under Make-up Base or Foundation. Apply the camouflage using Visagie Brush V4 to the crease of the eye-pouch. The yellowish undertone of colour IV5 has a neutralising effect.

UNDER MAKE-UP BASE = Under Make-up Base
FOUNDATION = Foundation
BRUSHES VISAGIE = Brushes Visagie
Base: To determine the proper colour, you can test it on the neck. Take the Camouflage Make-up Pure out with a clean spatula and work from the spatula, or directly from the stick.
CAMOUFLAGE MAKE-UP PURE = Camouflage Make-up Pure
Apply it with a slightly damp latex sponge or make-up sponge onto the skin. Work the base out properly, up into the hairline, and do not forget the ears and neck. This is how you avoid a mask-like effect.
FIXING THE MAKE-UP

Fix the make-up with plenty of Fixing Powder. Fixing Powder is transparent and does not influence the colour. Fixing Powder can be applied with a Grimas Velour Powder Puff, a Powder Puff or a Powder Rouge Brush. Gently tap the puff or brush on the back of the hand and then apply plentifully on top of the make-up.

Allow to settle in to get a waterproof result.

VELOUR POWDER PUFF = Velour Powder Puff
POWDER PUFF = Powder Puff
BRUSHES POWDER ROUGE = Brushes Powder/Rouge
EYEBROWS

You touch up the eyebrow using Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge in a suitable colour. Use a brush to take out Eye Shadow/Rouge in the desired colour and determine the colour intensity on the hand before you apply the powder.

EYESHADOW/ROUGE = Eyeshadow/Rouge
You comb the eyebrow hair (for example with a clean, dry mascara roller or eyebrow comb) in a downward direction and fill in the upper edge. Use an MS2 or MS4 brush for this (with obliquely cut hairs)
Hint: you can also use a brush (for instance R4 or M4) of which you yourself have cut the hairs diagonally.

Work from the centre to the outer areas and do not begin right where it starts. Then you push the hairs upwards and fill in the eyebrow a little from the bottom.

Use the brush to apply a thin layer of Eyebrow Fixer to the eyebrows. Use the brush to fix the hairs in the right direction. You can repeat the process several times, each time only using a little of the product.

EYESHADOW/ROUGE = Eyeshadow/Rouge
EYEBROW FIXER = Eyebrow Fixer
Only now do you remove the excess Fixing Powder from the skin using a Powder-Rouge Brush.

EYES

Eyeshadow/Rouge and Pearl Eyeshadow are very colour-intensive. Take the required colour of eye shadow out using a brush or applicator. Spread the eye shadow out on the back of your hand and then work from the hand to get the right amount.

EYESHADOW/ROUGE = Eyeshadow/Rouge
EYESHADOW/ROUGE PEARL = Eyeshadow/Rouge Glossy
In principle, you apply a light colour to the upper eyelid, a dark colour in the eye fold and a very light colour to the eyebrow arch (highlight).
Apply the light colour first using the brush and touch up with a latex sponge. The dark colours (for instance, in the fold of the upper eyelid) you apply after this.
You can make an eyeliner with Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge and a little Cleansing Lotion.

Scrape a little Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge loose using a spatula or the back of a brush. Take it up with a brush that has been moistened with Grimas Cleansing Lotion and mix it on the back of your hand. Upper eyelash edge: pull the outer corner of the eye upwards a little, get the subject to close their eyes and use a brush to place the eyeliner against the upper eyelashes and apply it from the inner corner outwards. Do not start too close to the inner corner of the eye and stop at the outer corner of the eye. If you want to draw the eyeliner line further, do this while the eyes are open and do not pull the skin.

EYESHADOW/ROUGE = Eyeshadow/Rouge
CLEANSING LOTION = Cleansing Lotion
Let the line run a little upwards from a quarter of the way from the end. You can also proceed as follows: let the eyes open and put a dot on the outside next to the eye in an imaginary line extending from the lower edge of the eye. Reckon with the eyelid fold when doing so. Get the model to close their eyes again and extend the line already drawn to the point marked.
Shade out the line a little in the outer corner of the eye.
Apply the waterproof mascara to the upper and lower eyelashes from where the eyelashes begin right to the ends with a rotating movement. If necessary, brush off with a clean, dry mascara brush afterwards to remove any lumps.
Repeat applying the mascara until the desired result is achieved. If required, you can apply mascara for a second or third time by brushing along the eyelashes using the brush in the direction of the outer corner of the eye. This makes the eyes appear more almond-shaped.
LIPS

Apply a strikingly-coloured Lipstick. Draw with a pencil to draw the outline of the lips.
Hint: if the tip feels hard on the skin and won't draw properly, then warm the tip of the pencil in your hand or sharpen the tip again.
Take the Lipstick (Pure) onto a spatula (even if you are working from a stick) and apply it with a lip brush. First colour the middle of the lips and then colour the edges, working from the outside inwards. Dab the result with a tissue to matt it off.

LIPSTICK (PURE) = Lipstick (Pure)
To make the lips 'kiss-proof', you powder the matt Lipstick (Pure) off copiously with Grimas Fixing Powder. You 'roll' this powder across the lips with a velour powder puff and you remove any excess powder with a Powder-Rouge Brush.
LIPSTICK (PURE) = Lipstick (Pure)
FIXING POWDER = Fixing Powder
BRUSHES POWDER ROUGE = Brushes Powder/Rouge
Applying Blusher: use the Powder-Rouge Brush to take out Grimas Eyeshadow/Rouge in the desired colour. Put the powder brush vertically and tap with the hand to disperse the powder in the hairs so the powder does not just end up on the tips of the hairs. Smooth the colour out with the flat side of the brush, so do not dab it on. For a natural effect, you can apply the rouge to the cheekbones, the temples and under the eyebrows, and light touches to the neck.
BRUSHES POWDER ROUGE = Brushes Powder/Rouge
EYESHADOW/ROUGE = Eyeshadow/Rouge
REMOVING THE PRODUCTS

You can remove the make-up with Grimas Cleansing Cream or Cleansing Milk. Cleanse the skin afterwards with cleansing lotion.

CLEANSING CREAM / SKINCARE CREAM = Cleansing Cream
CLEANSING MILK = Cleansing Milk
CLEANSING LOTION = Cleansing Lotion
CLEARING UP THE MATERIALS

Store the make-up in a dry and cool place until the next time you use it.

The sponges are disposable so you can throw them away after use. If you do want to reuse them, first rinse them under the tap with some soap or shampoo or wash them in the washing machine (in a net bag or pillow case), set to at least 60°C. You can also wash the (Velour) Powder Puff in the washing machine.

You can clean brushes with water and soap or shampoo. Put the moist hairs of the brushes back into shape by hand after washing. Dry the brushes lying flat on a towel and do not place them upright, since that causes the moisture to run down into the shaft.
